Sokhna's Group's story

This group was set up during the Banc Villageois' first cycle and comprises 15 women from the same village who are united by good social and professional relations. The person in charge of the group, Kène, is standing on the far right of the photo with her hand raised and wearing a large pink boubou. She is 43 years old, married and mother to four children: one girl and three boys. She has been active in the animal fattening business for a long time and has good experience. With her new loan of 200,000FCFA she is going to buy sheep which she will raise and resell at her town's weekly markets. The profits she makes will enable her to provide for all her family's food, schooling and health needs and boost her savings at the Banc Villageois.
