María Sebastiana's story

María is 51 years of age and lives with her child aged 13, who is studying in the sixth grade. She has a son aged 26 who resides in the United States. It is important to mention that she was married for 8 months, and when she separated from her husband she was pregnant, and that this child died at birth. The children that she has are adopted.

She works in a fruit and vegetable business, in the local market, which is located 3 kilometres from her home. She has carried out this activity since she was 19 years old. In addition, she is a leader in her community, and is the president of the association of communal development, which she made use of to acquire the job of coordinator of a programme called PATI, which she has carried out since 2011, encouraged by the city mayor's office and supervised by the FISDL (Social Investment Fund for Local Development). This consists of teaching young people and senior citizens about making home vegetable gardens.

The loan she is applying for from Fundación Campo is for two cubic metres of sand, twenty bags of cement and to pay labour costs. It is to finish the construction of the perimeter wall of her home.

Completing the construction will protect the investment made, and will serve to protect and delimit her land. One of her dreams is to establish a small shop, and improve her living conditions.
