A loan of $1,075 helped to buy food products such as basic grains, lard, sugar, and other items to supply her grocery store.

Ana Maria's story

Ana María is 45 years of age and a single mother. She has three children, and lives in the town of Esparta, Atlántida. She has her own grocery business which she runs from home, and sells products such as rice, beans, lard, soap, sugar, flour and other items. To keep her business going, Ana María has invested through a number of loans. This is her fifth loan cycle, and she has requested 21,000 Lempiras to buy basic grains, lard, soap, sugar, flour and other items. This will allow her to supply her business and better meet her customers’ needs. Her goal is to see her business grow, and to obtain better income to provide for her family’s wellbeing.
