A loan of $6,000 helped a member to pay for eucalyptus seedlings, fertilizer, training, and plantation maintenance support.

Raymond's Group's story

Raymond is an eighty-one year old farmer and father of sixteen children. His wife is also a farmer. Regular periods of drought cause them to lose some or all of their crops.

Raymond decided to join the KOMAZA program as a tree farmer in order to reduce his poverty level. He hopes to use the proceeds from his tree farm to educate his children and invest in cattle.

Also pictured with the group of twelve are Nyevu, Elizabeth and Nzingo. They are all interested in the KOMAZA micro forestry program but were unable to join this planting season.

In this group: Raymond, Kazungu, Mwenda, Joseph , Jonathan, John, Elizabeth, Christine, Salome, Josephine , Kache, Alice
