Paraguay
Ybycuí, Paraguay / Food Market

A loan of $1,400 helped to buy vegetables, meat, baked goods, fruits, noodles, and other products.

Cristino's story

Sr. Cristino is 68 years old and married. He lives with his wife in Caballero Punta de Ybycuí. They have four grown children who are married and independent.

Cristino has been in the retail business for approximately 40 years. He manages a food pantry, but he also sells milk. When he started his business, Cristino says that he received help from his father who gave him land on which to build his house as well as two dairy cows by which he could support himself. Thanks to his effort and hard work, Cristino was able to save some money and open a food pantry with his wife. Each day he keeps his business stocked and thanks to his good service, he was able to establish a customer base. Cristino is a hardworking person, and as a result, his children have turned out to become good people.

The loan he is requesting will be used to buy various products to restock his food pantry such as vegetables, meat, baked goods, fruits, noodles, and other items. He is grateful to Fundación Paraguaya and Kiva for the opportunity he has received. Cristino hopes to satisfy the needs of his customers by offering them a wider variety of products.
