A loan of $800 helped to buy fruit and fish to sell.

Maria Del Carmen's story

42-year-old María is a tenacious lady who has a great desire to make progress in life. She lives with her mother and three dependent children. María has worked very hard to provide for her family as she is a single mother. She has not let her situation prevent her from providing her children with everything they need to live a decent life. María owns her own business in the local market where she sells fruit and vegetables. She has been working from this same spot for more than five years which has enabled her to gain regular customers and receive recommendations. María is a responsible, honest woman who has a desire to improve herself. She is requesting a loan from INTEGRAL to invest in buying a larger quantity of vegetables and seasonal fruit. As Easter is approaching, she would like to buy 'jocotes' (a native fruit), mangos and sweet treats wholesale. She will also buy dried fish as this is traditional seasonal food. María hopes to see her sales increase so that she and her family can live more comfortably.
