A loan of $275 helped to build a pen.

Jose Maria's story

José is a 20 year old young man. He is single and lives in the city of Cañete in the district of Imperial with his parents and siblings. He is a friendly, hard working and enthusiastic person who really wants to get ahead. Lamentably, due to a lack of financial resources and because he has to work to help his parents, José hasn't been able to study computer programming like he wanted, but he would have really liked to. In his free time, he likes to play soccer with his friends and on occasions he cooks a delicious arroz verde to share with his family.

On his own initiative, with much hard work and dedication, José works as a receptionist at a service business in his city. He serves the public and can work approximately 8 hours a day. In addition, José has a small business raising and selling ducks.

José is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to their help he can build a small pen for his birds. He will buy wood, posts, rods, plastic and water dispensers to improve his pen. This way, he can continue working and striving to achieve his dream of going to college and getting ahead with his family.
