A loan of $275 helped to buy a school uniform and supplies for her daughter.

Emma Nataly's story

Emma, 22, lives in the city of Chincha with her six-year-old daughter, who she loves very much and is her main motivation in life. Emma is a kind, hard-working, enthusiastic person who dedicates all her efforts to proving for her daughter, since she is both mother and father to her. Unfortunately, because of a lack of resources and the need to work, she was unable to get an accounting degree as she would have liked to. In her free time she enjoys playing with her little girl and sometimes cooking a delicious "Carapulcra" stew to share with family.

On her own initiative and dedication, Emma runs a small business selling women's, men's and children's clothing. She starts work very early in the morning and works about 12 hours a day. She enjoys her work and believes it is going well because of her low prices and good customer service.

Emma is very grateful to Kiva lenders, because thanks to their help she will be able to buy a school uniform and supplies for her daughter who will start elementary school soon and needs school materials. Emma will continue working and making every effort to give her daughter a good education. In the not-too-distant future she wants to buy her own home.
