A loan of $600 helped to buy young citrus plants.

Simeon's story

Simeón is 43 years old and married to Mery, age 42. They have two children. His main business activity is producing citrus fruits such as oranges, tangerines, tangelos, and others. Simeón said that he previously grew organic cacao, but he did not achieve good results. Therefore, he decided to switch to different crops and now he spends his time in this new endeavor. Having made this decision without any regrets, Simeón has already generated good earnings that benefit his entire family.

He has been in this line of work for three years and says that he enjoys it because of the positive feedback he has received from his customers, who have been growing in number over time. By having capital reserves, he will be able to buy plants and maintain them. This is why he approached MFP with a request of 1,500 PEN. He will proceed with the purchase of young citrus plants that he will cultivate on his land. Simeón’s long-term goal is to establish an association of citrus producers so that he can expand the job market and improve the lives of cacao producers like him who want to try something new.
