Zareena M.nawaz Group's story

Zareena baji is the wife of M. and has lived in the city of Kasur, Pakistan for the last 25 years. She is 4 years younger than her husband and the mother of five children: three sons and two daughters. She has a two room brick house. Her husband is famous for his samosas, the well known Punjabi food. Zareena baji is applying for a loan to expand her husband’s business.

There are five other women who are members of the loan group. Suraiya baji wants the loan to improve her food business. Shahnaz baji wants to buy a horse cart and Uzma baji wants to expand her oil business. Kosar baji will expand her sewing machine business and Shamim baji wants to repair her auto-rickshaw.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members and each woman will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans and if one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
