A loan of $450 helped to purchase plastic tables, rice, beans, oil, vegetables, condiments and food packaging.

Vilma Del Socorro's story

Vilma lives in the city of Managua. She is 38 years old, married and she is the mother of three children who are 17, 15 and 12 years old, respectively. Of her children her oldest daughter is in university and the other two are in high school. She began her business 10 years ago selling food as it is a suitable skill and as she has always enjoyed it, she decided to start her own food stall. In addition, she didn’t want to work for anyone and she wanted to be a business owner. With this business she has managed to support her family and at the same time develop her culinary skills. Another activity that she performs is therapy for children with neurological problems. She attends to her business with help from her children and husband.

She is requesting the loan to purchase plastic tables, rice, beans, oil, vegetables, condiments and packaging for food. This investment will allow her to provide better service to her customers as well as to have the basic ingredients for her work. One of her next projects is to buy a car to use as a taxi and in this way obtain another form of income that will help her to improve and prosper.
