A loan of $1,000 helped to buy ingredients for meals, like sugar, baking flour, frying oil, and cereals/grains.

Mwanaidi's story

Mwanaidi is a resident of Likoni, Kenya. She is a married business lady and runs a food cafe. She mostly sells cooked food to the residents around her; the area has a high population, mainly composed of those who work in the island and have limited time to prepare their own food.

Mwanaidi was introduced to Milango by her friends. She is asking for a loan of 85,850 Kenya shillings to buy more ingredients for making her dishes, like sugar, baking flour, frying oil and cereals. She looks forward to employing more people, once she receives the loan and improves/expands the operations of her current business.

Despite the high level of bad debts, Mwanaidi believes she can earn more profit, which she will apply to several purposes: the education of her children, providing income and jobs to the people she will hire to help her, and also opening a larger cafe.
