A loan of $425 helped to improve her living space and to pay for the labor it will take to do so.

Martha Ilia's story

Martha is a humble woman from the country. She lives in the pretty city of Esteli and is single with four grown children who are living independently and working as professionals.

Martha is characterized by being a hardworking woman who loves her family a lot. Currently she is working on an estate as a porter. She has been working for this company for more than 29 years, and that's how she has been able to be a single mother. She has been able to create a better life for herself through her efforts and by making sure all her children are well employed.

Martha is asking for this loan so she can put it towards the payment of the manual labor she will need to construct a living room in her home. This would help her improve the condition of her home and her family's comfort.

She has become very happy because of the support that Kiva has given her because it makes her personal projects possible.
