A loan of $400 helped to buy vegetables.

Sofia's story

Sofía, age 31, is a hard-working and diligent woman. She is married to Henry, who works in transportation and is the father of their four children. They live together comfortably in their home, which is made from sturdy material.

Sofía sells fresh vegetables. She has a truck for transportation, and she sells in an itinerant manner at the city’s main market. Sometimes she sells in remote areas like settlements and hamlets. She offers her customers good service, which has helped her to gain their trust.

She currently has the support of her husband who is in charge of driving the truck while she attracts customers with her strong voice. She has been doing this work for over one year, and it is going very well for her.

She likes this business because it generates the income her family needs. She also likes it because she feels comfortable developing a work activity that makes her feel like a productive person. She feels that this business is profitable because of the income that she gets. That is why she wants to continue on this road.

She will now request a loan for 1,000 soles. She is thankful to all those who make her loan possible so that she is able to solidify her plans. She will use the loan to buy fresh vegetables like lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, and more in order to continue selling on the streets of the city.
