Alfa Y Omega (Flat) Group's story

Alfa y Omega is the name of this group, which is made up of seven happy, hardworking, and honest people. Each of them has undertaken a business activity with the goal of having a better quality of life: Santa Rosalia sells cosmetics, Lucinda has a paper store, Monserrat sells footwear, Esperanza sells groceries, Cristina has a taxi service, and Gabina sells footwear. This group is located in a sugarcane region, where the main source of employment is planting and harvesting sugarcane.

Lucinda, 58, is one of the members of this group. She is has a secondary school education and she is married to Juan. She says that she has been a businesswoman for a long time, but she only managed to establish herself a short time ago. She rented a space in the center of her community where she sells paper goods, gifts, and toys.

She has this business because she would like to have a better quality of life and to contribute to her home expenses.

She says that she has gained clients little by little, because she offers good prices and looks after her business with a very friendly manner. This helps her to gain clients and increase her sales.

This loan from Vision Fund will help her to buy an assortment of pencils, mechanical pencils, sharpeners, white paper, colored paper, glue, bond paper, poster boards, scissors, colors, and felt-tip pens to re-stock her business, as well as some gifts such as wallets, teddy bears, chocolates, and perfume.

Lucinda says, "In the future, I would like to my business to be larger and have a better inventory, and to sell merchandise to many clients. I would like to thank you because without your help, we could not grow our small businesses."

Other factors which allow her to have good sales are the good location of her business and the fact that she constantly sells new products.

In this group: Santa Rosalia, Lucinda, Monserrat, Esperanza Julia, Cristian , Gabina Guadalupe
