A loan of $1,175 helped to buy shoes.

Gissela's story

Gissela, 32, is married to Horario, a merchant, and they have two children. They live comfortably in their own home which they bought with a lot of effort and dedication. Gissela runs a business selling women's brand name shoes and her clientele prefers her over the competition. She sells by catalogue at good prices, after adding in her profit margin. She also sells women's, men's and children's clothing. She buys all the merchandise wholesale in another city on a monthly basis, and sells by going door-to-door, visiting freinds, neighbors and relatives. She sells both in cash and on credit.

Gissela began her business five years ago and works alone. She feels her work is very profitable. Her short-term goal is to open a shop where she can sell shoes, clothing and accessories. On this occasion she is requesting 3,000 PEN to buy women's shoes and sandals which are in high demand. She is grateful for this financial support which will help her get ahead in her business, and is committed to paying back the loan on time.
