Elsa's story

Elsa is a 39-year-old determined woman with great wishes of getting ahead. She is an unmarried, mother of two small children, who are in school and who depend on her in all aspects. Her parents, of limited resources, couldn't give her the opportunity to continue studying in secondary school so she completed a primary education.

Elsa has her own house which the father of her children left her as he abandoned her. She is a single mother who doesn't have the support of the father of the children. Her parents gave her a property as inheritance which she grows coffee so that she could support herself and give her children a better education, and she taught them to cultivate and maintain this product.

She has been growing coffee for twenty-nine years which is the only source of income she has, in addition to taking care of the house. Her crop is located in front of her house which allows her to keep an eye on her crop.

Elsa is requesting help to invest a part of the cash for the purchase of fertilizer, manure, and fumigation equipment for her coffee crop and the other part to invest in the purchase of 1,000 coffee plants since this year she had to cut down part of the crop due to blight disease that destroyed a part of the crop.

Her dream is to educate her two children so that they have a better quality of life, better opportunities of employment and a better level of education so that they can be resourceful men and can inherit the land that nowadays their mother works.
