Baba

A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase grains.

Baba's story

Mr. Baba was born in 1975 in Zanferebougou C/Sikasso. He lives in his own house in Zanferebougou (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). He has been running businesses buying and selling grains for seven years. His experience in this domain has earned him a good reputation, and he receives orders from diverse customers.

Thus, to obtain the necessary resources to satisfy these customers, he has been collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso for six years now. The previous loans were properly repaid. This loan will enable him to buy and sell about fifty 50-kg sacks of grains. He gets his supplies in Zanferebougou, as well as in surrounding villages, such as Lobougoula. Sales are made in Niena, as well as in Sikasso. The grains he purchases are stocked in a store in Zanferebougou for a good while. His customer base is composed of men and women from the village.

With this loan, he envisions making an average monthly profit of 90,000 francs CFA. This profit will enable him to pay the loan interest and to invest in his business.
