The six members of the group LA PAIX are married women averaging 39 years of age and five children each. The women live in monogamous families in ATT BOUGOU, a new working-class district in Sikasso City (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). They are on their third loan with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso out of concern for satisfying the needs of their customers.

Ms. Nassitan does commerce in soap in this group of women. She is the one standing second from the left in the photo. She intends to use her loan to purchase about 10 boxes of soap that she sells retail locally and at the Medine market.

She envisions making an average monthly profit of 15,000 francs CFA. Part of the profits is used to repay the loan and the interest, and the other part goes to savings.

Les six membres du groupe LA PAIX sont des femmes mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 39 ans, et ont en moyenne 5 enfants. Elles vivent dans des familles monogamiques à ATT BOUGOU un des nouveaux quartiers populaires de la ville de Sikasso 3ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles sont à leur 3ème prêt avec l’institution de micro finance Soro Yiriwaso dans le souci de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle.
Mme Nassitan fait le commerce de savons dans ce groupe de femmes. Elle se tient en debout en deuxième position de la gauche vers la droite.
Elle compte acheter avec son prêt environ 10 cartons de Savon qu’elle revend en détail sur place et au marché de medine.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 15 000 FCFA dont une partie est utilisée pour payer le prêt et son interêt et l’autre pour son épargne.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
