Kharagauli, Georgia / Construction

A loan of $1,225 helped to build a cattle shed.

Murman's story

Murman is a 52 year old married man living in the Kharagauli district with his wife, two grown sons and retired sister. The family owns an agricultural plot of land where they grow different kinds of vegetables. They also have one milk cow and 10 pigs. Murman’s wife milks the cow and makes dairy products. The family sells the produce, dairy products and piglets in the local markets and they have a small monthly income.

With the requested loan Murman will be able to buy building material to build a cattle shed. As he has had problems buying these materials, he was going to sell his cattle. The Kiva loan will give him an opportunity to save the cattle, build a proper shed and look after them better. After the shed is built Murman will be able to increase the number of cattle in the future and implement his plans. This will help the family to expand their business, increase their income and give them a chance to have better living conditions.
