Maria Esther's story

Maria is a 53-year-old woman. She lives in the city of Chincha with her two children, whom she loves and are her main reason for living. She is a very kind, hard-working, and enthusiastic woman who dedicates all of her efforts to keeping her family going since she is mother and father to her children. Unfortunately, due to a lack of economic resources and the necessity to work to pay her expenses, Maria was not able to study for a professional degree. However, it would have very much pleased her to be a great cosmetologist. In her free moments she likes to distract herself by watching movies, and sometimes she cooks a very tasty spicy beef to share with her family.

Through her own initiative, Maria works with much determination and dedication in her small business selling food. She works every day from the early hours of the morning and she can do so for approximately 8 hours. She prepares delicious dishes typical of her city, and she believes that her business is doing well because of her good seasoning and the friendly treatment she provides to her customers.

María is very thankful to the Kiva lenders since, thanks to the help provided, she will be able to purchase supplies like rice by the sacksful, beans, pots, disposable plates, and others. Thus, María will have her business set up better, so then she will continue working and striving to achiever her greatest dream of having a great restaurant and so wishes to be able to get ahead with her family.
