A loan of $1,475 helped to buy fertilizer, manure and fumigation pumps to maintain her coffee crop.

Ada Argentina's story

Ada Argentina is a married woman who from her marriage has one minor child. With her husband, she works in farming, especially in growing coffee. She has done this activity for more than 10 years, since when she was young her parents taught her to work in farming, an activity they still do today. She has one year of primary education but was unable to keep going to school because her parents' income was very low. Right now, she and her husband mutually support each other to get ahead, something their only child depends on. The coffee crop is 200 meters from their house and so she walks to get there.

Ada Argentina is asking for help to buy fertilizer, manure, and fumigation pumps to maintain her coffee crop. If she doesn't maintain it and care for it, it can be damaged by blight, a disease that especially affects this type of crop.

She dreams of raising her son to have a better quality of life and better work opportunities, since working the land is very hard and with so much pollution and lack of materials to care for the crops the earnings can be low. However, this way, she can prepare and strengthen her crop and have an excellent harvest.
