A loan of $225 helped to buy material (mezcal) to make rope.

Ana Maribel's story

Ana lives with her two daughters, one 5 years old and the other 6 months old, who depend on her. Ana works making hammocks. She first started off making thread from the leaves of the mezcal (a type of agave plant). Then she learnt how to make hammocks, a business she supports herself with. She is applying for a loan to buy material to make thread or rope; she buys mezcal to make it. She will use this money as she has no capital to be able to expand her product. Her wish is to get ahead with her children, to give them a better life with her business.
