A loan of $575 helped to buy cornmeal for making tortillas and to acquire blocks and cement for expanding her house.

Adina's story

Adina is 31 years old and a single mother with three children. She lives in a suburban neighborhood of San Pedro Sula.

Adina has her business of making and selling corn tortillas. Her business is in her home and she has been in this line of work for five years. She has decided to request a loan of 11,000 HNL so that she can buy cornmeal, which is the main ingredient for making tortillas. A portion of the loan will be used to expand part of her house by building a wall. For this reason, she needs to buy some blocks and cement.

Her plan is to maintain a successful business so that she can cover her household expenses and pay for her children’s studies.
