A loan of $1,675 helped to buy chickens and pig feed.

Edith Julieth's story

Edith, 24, is a young woman who lives in the country. At her father's side she learned about livestock farming and agriculture, which are the family's main source of income. Since she was 18 she has been managing the household economy, as her father became ill and is unable to continue running the business.

Every morning Edith gets up early to start her work: weeding, fertilizing and harvesting the coffee plantation, while also caring for the chickens and pigs. The income from these activities is enough to support her parents and younger sister. Her greatest challenge is being the head of household and running the farm.

Currently, she is requesting a loan to buy chickens and pig feed. This is to improve the family's economic situation and provide her sister with an education.
