A loan of $200 helped to pay her laborers.

Emilia's story

Emilia is 54 years old and is married to Sixto, who is 63. Along with her husband, she is proud to have provided their children with a good education, which is why today they are decent people. She has a home built with wood, which she shares with her family. She has been a well-known local organic cocoa bean farmer for approximately thirty years. Staring this business was complicated, because she didn't own any land, but thanks to her work she was able to save up enough capital to buy a small plot. She says she really enjoys her work because she does it with her family and it becomes a collective effort. She would like to have her financial institution's support for the end of this season and be ready for the harvest. This time she will request 500 nuevos soles in order to pay the laborers who will be in charge of harvesting her cocoa beans.
