Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $525 helped to buy fertilizers for his coffee crop.

Missael's story

Missael is 26 years old, married, and has one child. He lives in the town of Siguatepeque.

Missael is a farmer who has managed his own coffee plantation for the past six years. Whatever he produces is sold at the local market. He decided to request his second loan in the amount of 10,000 HNL. The proceeds will be invested in the purchase of fertilizers so that he can improve his coffee crop and obtain a larger harvest. His goal is for his family to be successful.
