Marhabo's story

Markhabo is a very diligent and punctual woman who lives in a rural section of J. Rasulov. She is 48 years old, and has three children — two sons and one daughter. Sadly Markhabo's husband died several years ago, and she has been forced to become both mother and father to her children. Her sons have gone to Russia for work, and they try to send her as much money as possible. For several years, Markhabo has been working raising and fattening cattle. She buys young calves, fattens them, and then sells them for meat. Since she no longer bears the heavy responsibility of looking after the children, she has gotten a second job working the night shift in a home for the disabled. Her daughter helps her with raising the cattle. Things are very difficult for Markhabo without her husband, but she lives for the sake of her children and doesn't lose heart. Soon her sons will come home from abroad and she will marry them off, and has saved up money for this. Markhabo has decided to take out a loan and buy a cow to expand her business. Hopefully she will receive financial support at Arvand.
