West Point, Liberia / Restaurant

A loan of $225 helped to purchase Vita, oil, salt, pepper, rice, fish, dry meat, chicken feet, and charcoal for her business.

Janga's story

Janga is 30 years old and lives in West Point one of the most populous and best-known markets in Montserrado county. She lives with her partner who is a mechanic and they have two children aged 3 and 13. Both live at home with her and attend school.

For six years now, Janga has been running a cook shop (restaurant) in the local market. Sometimes she doesn't have enough money to buy her ingredients wholesale and has to buy retail which is much more expensive. She likes the interaction with her customers and learned how to cook from her mother a long time ago. Janga has requested a loan to purchase Vita, oil, salt, pepper, rice, fish, dry meat, chicken feet, and charcoal for her business. In the future, she would like to build her own house.
