Enalvis's story

Enalvis is 28 years old, married and has two children ages 12 and 4. She earns income with her own business, which is preparing and selling lunches, soft drinks and ice cream. Her husband gave her the idea to start the business when he suggested that she sell lunches to his work colleagues. With her husband being so close, her business started to go well, and little by little she has been adding to it, including popsicles and soft drinks, which complement what she is able to offer her customers. She conducts her sales in cash and works Monday to Friday from 5 a.m. to noon.

Enalvis is currently requesting a Kiva loan to be able to sell to an increased number of customers, since each day more customers come to her and her small amount of capital makes it a real challenge to be able to sell to all of them. This Kiva loan is her first financing with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will use the loan to buy supplies, meats, soft drinks and disposable products. She says that with this investment she will begin the path to growing her business. Her goal later on is to have her own, well-equipped premises from which to better sell her products and wait on her customers with the quality they deserve.
