A loan of $825 helped to purchase mobile phones and accessories to sell.

Abdoulaye's story

Mr. Abdoulaye is a 39-year-old married man and the father of three children. He lives with his wife and children in Bougouni, in the Dougounina district. Having dropped out early from a modern school, he soon started revenue-generating businesses, especially the buying and selling of mobile phones and accessories which he learned from his uncle. With eight years of experience, he has mastered his business.

To obtain significant working capital, he decide to join the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso to purchase 20 mobile phones, 15 batteries, and 18 covers. He is now on his first Soro Yiriwaso loan. He gets his supplies in Bamako (capital of the Republic of Mali) and makes his sales at the Bougouni market.

With this loan, he expects to make a monthly profit of 50,000 francs CFA. With the profits, he envisions expanding his enterprise and helping out his father to ensure that family expenses are covered.
