A loan of $725 helped a member to buy meat.

Yeredeme Group's story

The Tièssiri group is composed of 7 women who are all married and have an average age of 24 and, on average, 2 children. They all live in traditional families in Méridièla, one of the villages in the Bougouni Circle. They got to know each other thanks to neighbourly and professional relationships, and friendships. They joined the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution in order to strengthen their financial capacity so that they could better run their businesses and are on their 3rd loan. The previous loans were correctly reimbursed. This group of women sells doughnuts and prepared food.

Mah, who is standing and holding paperwork in the photo, sells cooked meat. She plans to use her loan to buy 2 sheep from the farmers. She makes her sales of cooked meat at the Méridièla market, at the markets of the surrounding villages and door-to-door, for cash or credit to a retail clientèle composed of men and women. She expects to make an average monthly profit of 20 000 francs, which will be reinvested in her business and used to repay the loan.
