A loan of $1,450 helped a member to buy and sell rice pies and meat, cheese, and other pastries.

Dios Con Nosotros. Group's story

Dios con Nosotros Communal Bank is made up of nine members, seven women and two men, fathers and mothers who have 20 children in their care. They're from Malpaisillo, located in the western part of the country.

These members are responsible and hardworking people with a desire for personal self-improvement. Unfortunately none of them were able to pursue a university education due to lack of financial resources. They had to work from a young age so they could help with the household expenses. This is why they want a better future for their children.

The coordinator of Dios con Nosotros Bank is Rosa Andrea, whose job is selling pastries and pies, which she does with great pleasure because it has been her way of life and that of her children. Her work routine is to sell her pastries and pies on foot some 10 hours a day with a basket on her head that weighs about 10 kilograms.

The goal of this loan is to invest in working capital and stock her business buying and selling products such as rice pies and meat, cheese, and other pastries, so she can have better income in the near future.

Dios con Nosotros Communal Bank is grateful for the help that Kiva lenders give to low-income people and poor countries such as Nicaragua so they have a decent means of work.
