A loan of $1,250 helped to buy inventory such as groceries, toiletries and beverages.

Juanita's story

This is Juanita. Her previous loan was a big help as she was able to buy all of the necessary products for her store. She has been with this business for ten years. At the age of 60, she still works hard to provide income for her everyday needs and to help her relatives.

Juanita would like to apply for another 50,000 PHP loan to buy inventory, such as groceries, toiletries, and beverages. More items displayed in the store results in a better opportunity for more profit. Her business profits will definitely help to sustain her family’s daily needs and to sustain her children’s educational expenses. She looks forward to this financial increase with gladness and thankfulness in her heart.

Juanita dreams to have her own house and land. She also hopes that her business will grow bigger. She meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her life and business every week and to draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, to build social capital, and to repay microfinance loans.
