Isabel's story

50 year old Isabel has been married to Antonio for 19 years and, together with him, she has 3 children. They live together in a house made of new materials that they built with great effort. Isabel works selling the typical food of the region and roast meats. She does this in the front part of her house, from where she can attend to her customers in a kind and cordial way. She works every day until 6 at night. She has been running this business for 5 months and works alone. She likes her business as it permits her to have an income with which to cover the household expenses and the daily needs for bringing up her children. On the other hand, she doesn't like it when the cost of the supplies that she uses rises all of a sudden, reducing her income. However, even when this happens, she has been able to keep her sales profitable. She has plans to continue with her business, growing it by having more chairs and tables to offer her customers greater comfort. On this occasion, she is requesting $700. She is grateful for the financial support that she is being offered to continue with her business and move her plans forward. With the money she is requesting, she will buy all the ingredients in bulk, for instance rice, oils, potatoes, and other things so that she can get the best profits.
