A loan of $775 helped to buy a table and chairs and cooking ingredients.

Jessica's story

Jessica is 23 years old. She is married and has two young children. She lives alongside them in her in-laws' house. Jessica makes a living selling food. She starts very early as every day she goes to the market to buy the necessary ingredients to make the most delicious dishes. She prepares all the stews throughout the day and starts serving customers at 5pm. She finishes late at night. She works alone and has been doing this for three years. Jessica likes her work because she can spend time with her children and give them the necessary attention. They are still young and need her to look after them. In the time that she has been working, Jessica has learned always to give her customers a smile and good service as this is what makes them return to her and so she keeps customers. She hopes to continue with this work and expand with more chairs and seats, and even look for larger premises. On this occasion she is applying for 2000 Nuevo Soles for a table and four chairs, which sell for about 100 Nuevo Soles. The rest of the money will be used to buy ingredients and supplies such as chicken, meat, potatoes, oil and sausage. She is very content with the financial support that she receives as it will help her to progress to with her business.
