Rosa Narcisa's story

Rosa has been a member of the El Credito (The Loan) Communal Bank for a few years, strengthening her friendship with her neighbors and friends in the course of the years. She lives in a nice area of Cuenca, a town renown for her 4 rivers and for its city center, where colonial, natural and modern elements blend in. Its inhabitants keep their traditional culture alive, and they are kind, gentle and welcoming people who work on a daily basis to improve their economic situation as well as that of their families.

Rosa is 40 years old, she is married and she has 4 children aged 23, 17, 16 and 10. Her eldest son is married and lives independently, the other two boys are studying in one of the schools of the city and her youngest daughter attends a small school. Her husband is a professional driver and he offers taxi services with his own vehicle. They live in the house of a relative because they do not have a house of their own.

Rosa has been engaging in selling clothes and cosmetics for a few years. This activity helps her improving her household’s economic situation and providing for her family.

She invested her previous loan in the purchase of cosmetics, going a very goof income she has used to pay for many household expenses, and she has had no problems in repaying said loan. The new loan she is requesting will be used to buy clothes and cosmetics to increase the number of her products.
