A loan of $550 helped to buy chickens, guinea pigs, and animal feed.

Andrea Paulina's story

Andrea is on her fourth loan with the Pauteñitas communal bank. She lives in a beautiful community in Paute Canton, which has a warm climate and fertile land where the prettiest flowers are grown. The rugged landscape offers enjoyable natural views. The people there are friendly and kind, and they still preserve their culture and traditions.

Andrea, 19, is the single mother of a two-month-old daughter. She lives in her parents' house. Her father is a gardener and her mother a housewife. The house she lives in belongs to her parents.

To pay for her expenses she raises guinea pigs and has a shed for chickens, which she sells in her canton.

She's going to invest her new loan in buying chickens, guinea pigs, and animal feed.

Her goal is to grow in raising these animals.
