Halima's Group's story

Halima is a 31-year-old dryland farmer and mother of two; her husband is a mason. Halima's agricultural business faces the challenge of drought, resulting in poor harvests. Halima is interested in the KOMAZA microforestry program because it provides a market for the trees she will grow. She says, "The fact that KOMAZA will sell these trees made me join the program." With the profits from her tree farm, Halima plans to educate her children, provide her family's daily needs (such as food), and purchase a plot of land to build rental houses.
