A loan of $775 helped to purchase materials for sewing..

Delia's story

Delia is thirty years old and is the mother of two children ages 13 and 8. Currently she is also pregnant with her third child. She lives with her husband in their own home. She works sewing clothing made of Lycra, with patterns that she herself has designed and created. Recently she arranged a small but very productive sewing shop in her home. In addition, the clothing that she makes is sold in bulk in some of the commercial centers of the city. She has been working in this field for about 11 years and she receives help from her daughter. What she likes most about her work is that she receives daily income. It also permits her to set her own schedule and have time to relax. In the future she would like to have a bigger shop with the tools necessary for completing big projects. At this time she is asking for a loan of 2000 nuevos soles (Peruvian currency). She is very happy to know that she will have financial support in order to continuing increasing her capital. With the requested loan she will purchase materials in order to continue her work, such as fabrics, colored thread, silk and lace, elastic, buttons, zippers, needles, as well as installing a darning machine so that she can put a better finish on her items.
