A loan of $400 helped to buy materials to make room dividers.

Adita's story

Adita, 29, is single and has two children, ages 5 and 10. They live together comfortably in her parents' home. Adita make and sells wood room dividers for modest homes. She makes everything by hand from plywood scraps. She rents a shop where she stores the supplies she needs. She employs three day workers as well. She sells to order at wholesale and retail and treats her customers well.

She began the business five years ago with her own capital, which she has reinvested. Her sister helps with management and acquiring new clients. The business is quite profitable because demand is good, and she has a backlog of customer orders. She decided to start her own business because she wanted to be independent, have her own income, and provide for her children's needs.

With the strong results she is seeing, she wants to continue and expand production. She is applying for a loan of S/. 1000 soles to buy materials such as plywood scraps, nails, and glue to make room dividers.
