A loan of $6,025 helped a member to purchase sewing supplies for running a small-scale revenue-generating business.

Doufi's Group's story

This group was created on May 28, 2009. It comprises 23 women from the same district who are united by good social and professional ties. The official, Ms. Fatou, is the one standing at the far right in the photo; she is dressed in a formal sky-blue 'boubou' and covered with a yellow scarf. She has been active in the commerce of sewing supplies for a long time and has good experience.

With her loan of 50,000 francs CFA, she is going to purchase colored thread and some buttons and trim that she will sell retail in the district.

The profits earned by her business enable her to meet her children's food, schooling, and healthcare needs.

In this group: Doufi, Ngone, Khady Kasse, Sokhna, Fatou, Oumy, Ndeye Aby, Kine, Ndey Thiaba, Ndeye, Ndeye Aminata, Ndeye Maty, Fatou, Ndack, Mariama, Yacine Dial, Fatou, Adama, Mbayang, Ndeye Latyr, Maimouna, Khady, Ngone
