A loan of $150 helped to increase stock.

Rehema's story

Rehema is 18 years old and lives in the town of Iganga in the Iganga region of Uganda. For the past 3, Rehema has been working hard to manage her clothes store, which puts up children's clothes on the market.

To help expand her business, Rehema has requested a loan of 400,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to increase stock, and will help Rehema to generate greater profits and boost the business. Rehema hopes that in the future she will be able to have a well-equipped business.

Rehema is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities, and a forum for life-skills training.
