A loan of $125 helped a member to buy materials for building a latrine.

Thyy's Group's story

Thyy, age 55, lives in a rural village in the Sa Ang District. She has four children, one of whom is dependent and still in school. She makes a living as a rice farmer in her area. Thyy and her husband have been in the business for 30 years. She earns about 10,000 riels (KHR) per day which allows her to save about 3,000 KHR each day after daily expenses.

This is a microloan for Thyy with Kiva’s partner. She is leading her group of three to ask for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy materials for building a latrine, such as a toilet bowl, tile drainage, etc. Thyy hopes this loan will enable her to have a clean latrine for her family to use.

In this group: Thyy, Nour, Phat
