A loan of $1,225 helped to buy oxen to use for the transportation of wood.

Nino's story

Nino is a 43-year-old woman living in the Khashuri district. She lives with her 57-year-old husband, who works at the railway station and gets a monthly salary. There are five more members living in this family: a son, a daughter, a daughter in-law, and two infant grandchildren.

Nino has two milk cows and three calves. She milks the cows every day and makes cheese, which is sold locally at the market. The family also owns a large plot of agricultural land where they grow corn, beans, and wheat. Harvested products are sold locally. Besides this, Nino works as a daily worker in the local farmers’ fields seasonally to earn additional income. She has been working hard already for 20 years.

Nino requested this loan to buy oxen. Her husband and son will use them for the transportation of wood, which will be sold locally. This will increase the family income and they will have the opportunity to make their living conditions better.
