Dinah is a resident of Nkubu and is married with one child of schooling age. She has been in farming business for seven years with tea being her main produce for the local market. She is aged 40.
Dinah has requested a loan of 40,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to help her buy poultry birds. She says this will help diversify her farming income sources and ensure continuous flow of the same. She plans to buy more parcels of land for more commercial farming.
Dinah is glad doing farming business and funding through Juhudi, and she believes she will give a better education to her child.
To facilitate a partnership between Kiva and Juhudi Kilimo, K-Rep Group (Juhudi Kilimo’s 100% owner) has guaranteed Kiva funds in the event of institutional default. Lenders should be aware that the risk of borrower default remains borne by the lender.
