Jacqueline's story

Jacqueline is a resident of Nkubu, in Central Kenya, where she lives with her 4-year-old child who attends school. Jacqueline farms wheat, potatoes, cowpeas, maize, and beans. She also runs a salon. She is 29 years old and has been in farming for three consecutive years.


Jacqueline has requested a loan of 40,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to buy birds for a poultry farming business. She says the loan will help to improve her farming income, which she will use to educate her child.


Jacqueline mentions inadequate funds and drought as the main challenges in farming.
