A loan of $575 helped to buy materials for the construction of a modern enclosure to protect his dairy cows.

Charles's story

Charles, 35, lives with his wife in Nkubu in Central Kenya He has been farming for ten successive years producing mainly cereals and dairy farming.

Charles has requested a loan of 50,000 KES to build a modern dairy unit, called a zero grazing unit, for his dairy cows. He hopes it will help protect his animals and improve their production capacity, hence improving his farming income.

He mentions that the main challenges to the farming business are the lack of animal feeds, crop pests and animal diseases. He hopes to improve his family living standards by improving his farming business.
