A loan of $975 helped to buy wood and to improve his house.

Fernando Favio's story

Fernando lives in the city of Camaná, known for its agriculture, especially the cultivation of rice that's well known internationally. It's also known for its beautiful beaches and the generosity of its inhabitants.

He's the father of two children, ages 5 and 8, whom he loves a lot and for whom he makes a big effort so they can get ahead and have a happy life without deprivation. In his free time he likes to play soccer with his neighbors as well as eat one of his favorite foods, a delicious bean dish.

Fernando works with great effort in his business as a master builder. He works around 12 hours a day, but it depends on the size of the building he's doing. He believes it's going well for him in his business because he's very responsible and honest with the customers, so they trust him and recommend him.

Fernando is very grateful to the Kiva lenders because this is the second time they've given him their help. This time he'll be able to buy wood for his job, because currently he has to rent it to assemble blocks, columns and other structures, and make improvements to the walls of his house.

This way he'll be able to improve his income and he'll continue working to realize his big dream: "To give his children a good education."
