A loan of $700 helped to buy a moulder.

Luis Alberto's story

Luis, 31, lives in the district of San Jose de los Molinos, Ica, Peru. The San Jose area is characterised by the development of agriculture, particularly growing cotton, potato, corn, onion, amongst other things. From a young age Luis learned to repair cars and started to work in a little workshop, as his parents had very little money. Because of this he only studied to 5th grade, but he would have liked to study mechanical engineering.

After a lot of effort and saving, Luis managed to get his own business repairing cars, specialising in tyre repairs. Her works around 9 hours a day and serves up to three customers a day. He believes that his business is going well because he is friendly and above all because he does a good job.

Luis is very grateful to the Kiva lenders as it is thanks to them that he will be able to buy a new moulder for his work as his current one is in a poor state as it is very old and very expensive to repair. This will let him have a tool that is adequate for his work and he will be able to continue working to make his greatest dream "to have his own home and a bigger workshop" a reality
